GLAY Releases Brand New Song “Kaishin no ichigeki”

Japanese Gaming News

GLAY, the popular Japanese band, has officially released their brand new song called “Kaishin no ichigeki”, which is being utilized as the official theme song for the current TV anime ‘Grendizer U’, and comes with brand new jacket artwork as well.

The brand new adaptation “UFO Robot Grendizer,” which was created by Go Nagai, was revived in 2024 as a new TV anime called “Grendizer U” and the production team has some top-tier talent on board such as Mitsuo Fukuda (“Mobile Suit Gundam SEED”) as chief director, Ichiro Okouchi (“CODE GEASS Lelouch of the Rebellion”) as series composer, and Yoshiyuki Sadamoto (“Neon Genesis Evangelion”) as the official character designer.

“We are truly grateful for the opportunity to have our song featured as the theme for ‘Grendizer U'” GLAY’s Hisashi said in an official statment. “‘Kaishin no ichigeki’ was inspired during our online meetings before production. Chief Director Fukuda’s bold words, ‘Musicians should perform as they like’ and ‘I will leave the music to you,’ liberated my creativity, resulting in GLAY’s latest, unrestrained masterpiece. Collaborating with such a distinguished team is a significant milestone in our history. Japanese entertainment has profoundly influenced me, and I hope to spark an even greater reaction from here in Japan – this is our critical hit (‘Kaishin no ichigeki’)!”
